Two major toy companies, privately-held Lego and Mattel Inc. MAT, +1.95%, have announced new toys ahead of the 2020 Toy Fair in February. Lego has introduced Lego Dots, an arts-and-crafts collection that allows kids and adults to design room decor, jewelry and more. And Mattel's Mega brand has launched three eco-friendly preschool sets. Polar Friends, Safari Friends and Woodland Friends sets will be made from bio-based resins. The move is part of Mattel's commitment to achieve 100% recycled, recyclable or bio-based plastic materials across its products and packaging by 2030. Mattel stock has gained 13.5% over the last year while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.43% is up 22.7% for the period.
